About Me

I design visually engaging, learner-centered experiences to inspire personal growth, organizational change, and professional development.
With over a decade of instructional design and curriculum development experience in both the public and private sectors, my passions include designing accessible multimedia e-learning content, and harnessing the power of educational technology to increase learner engagement, and knowledge retention.
My work is rooted in a strong understanding of learning theory, maximizing effectiveness by conducting needs analysis in order to design and develop innovative, competency-based instruction that aligns meaningful learning activities with targeted learning objectives to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
I engage stakeholders in the iterative design process, providing frequent opportunities to collect feedback, revising and refining each project along the way to ensure project owner expectations are met at each stage of development.

Instructional Design with Visual Arts Roots
I got my start as a visual arts teacher in public education, where I taught for over 12 years. I have experience designing instruction for my own classroom as well as for the Visual Arts Department in Fairfax County Public Schools. I also served as a Great Beginnings Mentor where I co-taught a seminar and modeled best practices in visual arts instruction for elementary art teachers that were new to the school system. I also served as a Lead Elementary Art Teacher, where I designed professional development workshops, and led collaborative learning team meetings for teachers in my pyramid. My specialty is technology integration for art teachers. Below are a few instructional design examples from my visual art teaching career.
